Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Battaglia practiced in the areas of consumer bankruptcy and consumer litigation, having represented both debtors and creditors in cases pending in state and federal district courts. Most recently before joining the firm, his practice was focused on representing secured creditors in bankruptcy court, specifically, financial institutions in their capacities as mortgage lenders and servicers. This focus provided him with extensive experience in advocating creditors’ rights in various matters, including matters such as secured claim objections, mortgage strip-downs and strip-offs, chapter 11 cramdown, alleged violations of the automatic stay, escrow account disputes, fraudulent conveyances, and fair debt collections. Mr. Battaglia draws from this extensive experience in representing clients in the areas of real estate, commercial transactions, corporate law, bankruptcy law, and debtor-creditor litigation.
